Community

Our mission is to provide Blackheath & Thornburgh College students with the knowledge to explore, evolve and expand their talents in a student focused community.

BTC students leave the college accountable, reliable and ready to contribute in an ever changing world. The students at BTC are provided with opportunities throughout the year to volunteer and contribute within our local community. Some of these opportunities are as follows:

• Boarders visit an aged care facility frequently to engage with the elderly, spend some meaningful time with them and participate in activities.
• Students assist the Parents & Friends (P&F) on Wednesday mornings in the Saleyards Canteen before school.
• Students volunteer at the Charters Towers Show doing odd jobs in the equestrian ring, providing assistance to the committee.
• Senior Sport & Rec students assist at sports events with set up, pack down, timekeeping and other various duties
