Cattle Club

BTC is proud to offer students in Years 7-12 the opportunity to be part of our Cattle Club & Show Team.

Students learn quiet cattle handling skills, breaking in, halter training, grooming and presentation, and develop confidence in their public speaking. Our Cattle Club students are focussed on animal husbandry, animal welfare, teamwork and taking responsibility for both themselves and their cattle.

The College's on-campus specialist Ag Farm facility allows students to easily access their show cattle throughout the season and be an active part of their feeding and maintenance on a rotational basis.

BTC students compete in parading and junior judging classes at a range of different local Shows and Expos, such as:

  • Charters Towers Show
  • Malanda Judging & Handling School
  • Winton Show
  • Northern Beef Producers Expo, Charters Towers
  • Beef Week, Rockhampton

Cattle Club is a fun, engaging and social way for students who have a lot or a little prior experience with handling cattle to work with large animals and build networks with other young people in the cattle industry.

Located in Charters Towers, North Queensland, we offer co-educational learning from Kindy to Year 12 with Boarding facilities.
