Camps

In 2022, the College has been able to make some positive changes to our fee structures to support families making the choice to send their children to BTC.

One of the key adjustments has been the introduction of an all inclusive tuition fee that covers expenses such as subject levies (Years 7-10) and Year Group biennial camps to ensure all students have full access to the programs on offer at BTC. Our learning environment relies on each and every student having a sense of belonging, connectedness and pride in who they are within our School community, something founded in participation in elective courses and camps with their peers.

Students in Year 3 to 6 attend school camps biennially. Students further their learning by exploring and inquiring about themes which guide their camp experience and extend student’s interpersonal and leadership skills.

Camp destinations include Paluma Environmental Education Centre, outback heritage experiences and our much-loved Canberra trip.

In 2023, the Secondary School Camps will occur for Years 7, 8, 10 and 12.

The Year 7 Camp to Magnetic Island is an introduction to Secondary School and is based around team building, getting to know students and staff and experiencing a range of outdoor activities.

The Year 8 Camp to Tallebudgera Beach on the Gold Coast, hosted by the Queensland Recreation Centre provides students with a beach style camp where students are immersed in water safety, beach games, body boarding, rock climbing, kayaking and abseiling.

The Year 10 Camp to Sydney hosted by The Urban Challenge provides students with an opportunity to participate in real-world situations like managing money, public transport, community services in an amazing race style adventure in Sydney, visiting Bondi Beach, Harbour Bridge, Opera House and much more.

The Year 12 Camp to Magnetic Island is a leadership based camp, preparing the senior students for leadership roles and leading Blackheath & Thornburgh College.

Located in Charters Towers, North Queensland, we offer co-educational learning from Kindy to Year 12 with Boarding facilities.
