Co-curricular enrichment

At Blackheath & Thornburgh College we believe that involvement in co-curricular activities is important in the development of the individual. Our emphasis is on participation, inclusion, sportsmanship and the striving for personal excellence and students are encouraged to be actively involved in activities as there are many benefits to be gained.

From sport and camps to Duke of Edinburgh, cattle Clubs, Arts and cultural activities, BTC offers a wide range of opportunities for students to enhance their learning and develop social and leadership skills. Other activities include:

Importantly, we value the importance of developing a sense of community both within the College and the wider community. We therefore expect all students (both residential and day students) to attend a number of events during the College year which include:

  • Interhouse and Interschool Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming Carnivals
  • College Leaders’ Induction
  • ANZAC Day Dawn Service (Year 12s plus any other interested student)
  • ANZAC Day March
  • Reunion Church Service
  • Carols Night
  • Speech Day
