Ronnie Critchley setting sail on the Young Endeavour!

Blackheath & Thornburgh College are proud to announce that Ronnie Critchley (College Captain) has been named as the 2018 Charters Towers Community Scholarship recipient to take part in the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme sponsored by Charters Towers Regional Council.
Ronnie will set sail on an 11 day voyage of a lifetime aboard the national Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour with 23 other young Aussies, not only learning to sail the ship, but how to work together as a team and see spectacular parts of Australia.
She will also learn to set and furl sails, keep watch, navigate using the ship’s chart, climb the mast and take the helm. Games and team building exercises, on shore visits, cook in the ship’s galley and even take command are all part of the challenge. A voyage on the Young Endeavour is not a leisurely cruise. It’s challenging and exhilarating and aimed to set a sense of adventure and willingness to push yourself to the limit, discover new reserves of character, commitment, confidence, teamwork and leadership!
Congratulations Ronnie!
